Attachment Style Quiz

Self-reflection

What's your attachment style?

Attachment research describes how we relate in close relationships along two dimensions: how much we worry about losing connection, and how comfortable we are with closeness. Answer honestly โ€” there are no wrong answers, and no style is a flaw.

1. I worry that the people I care about could stop caring about me.
2. When someone close takes longer than usual to respond, I start imagining what went wrong.
3. I often need reassurance that I matter to my partner or close friends.
4. I sometimes feel I care more about the relationship than the other person does.
5. Small signs of distance from someone I love can occupy my thoughts for hours.
6. I rarely worry about being abandoned by the people closest to me.
7. I prefer to work through difficult feelings on my own rather than share them.
8. When someone wants to get very close, part of me pulls back.
9. Depending on other people makes me uncomfortable.
10. I keep some walls up even with the people I love most.
11. Opening up to someone I trust usually feels natural to me.
12. It is easy for me to ask the people close to me for comfort or help.
